Australia Published shots+passes

29 April 07

I've got a night off tonight which is nice, recovering from a late night last night. I've been sent these by a friend in Oz. This is from Drum Media, kinda like the Sydney NME, but its a free street press, as is almost all their music jerno stuff. Its for Lamb of Gob, a big US metal band I shot when in OZ, who return to OZ this week.

Also, here are some of the cool passes that I've had over the past few weeks! they soon mount up.

NME in Stoke

29 April 07

Tired...It took me until 3.15am to get home last night. I was covering Club NME for NME in Stoke on trent or Stoat as I like to call it. Funny old place Stoat! and the venue, 'the underground' is kinda next to a large expanse of waste land. Saying that, I had a great night, the feature will be out May 19th, in the Club section, the band : Bombay Bicycle Club. Really good band, def worth check out their myspace!

HIM : Earls Court

27 April 07

Right, I’m sure I’m not the only person to think this but did anyone else think Earls Court was next to Olympia? As I drove in to west London and turned off thinking I was minutes away from pulling up in a nice easy car parking space..Wrong.  They are in fact very much not together, which left me driving round like a nut case trying to find it. Got there in the end. Its been a very long time since I’ve been to Earls court and I had forgotten how much of a rubbish venue it was.Tonight was the first London date of the ‘ Give it a name ‘ Tour. Maybe they could of come up with something more imaginative because the place was not even half full! This could also of been because of the choice of headliner ‘HIM’ the finish metal band that are not all that metal. My option, Over rated. Anyway, i made it home to meet an old friend in the pub before closing, so i was happy in the end.

The Camden Shuffle

26 April 07

Tonight I preform what my brother and I call the Camden shuffle, our very own Camden Crawl, where you run
about like a headless chicken, trying to see more than one act in a night, all along Camden High street.
Tonight I was going to attempt to catch 3 people preforming. Newton Faulkner, John Butler Trio and Hell
is for Hero’s. My aim was to dart like lightning between The Round House and the Barfly. All very well,
times kinda made sense, But i was still running down the street, camera in hand, trying to get to the front
of the Barfly ( a bun fight for a front row spot). Well..I managed it, and made friends with a guy who was in
the mosh-pit in a wheelchair for Hell is For Hero’s. Both Wicked gigs, and I even managed to get back into
John Butler to see the last few songs!!

Jamie T

25 April 07

This week continues to be a crazy one, out shooting everynight. Off to the Forum for Jamie T. I thought he was going to be all 'I wanna be in the streets' but actually he was quite good. As i sit down in the photo pit some one taps me on the sholder, its a couple of girls i had met a few weeks previously, again at the forum, for Get Cape. They even had the same stop in the barrier!

Paolo Nutini : The forum

24 April 07

Anyone would easily mistake tonights event at the Academy as a Ladies only show! Paolo seem to attract the finest caliber of young woman all screaming his name and completely drowning out the music. Paolo himself didn’t seem to bothered or excited at the fact that there were thousands of gorgeous ladies telling him they wanted his babies. Maybe he’s just tired of being a heart throb? To be honest, and I have not problem normally in saying if another guy is look looking or not, but Mr Nutini was not all that. Tonight Paolo went through the motions. First time at the Academy as a shooter, and a good experience.

Last night was The View at The Forum in Kentish town. Towers of London were supporting which was
strange choice. The View were shorter than I imagined, and they looked about 12! the crowd were chanting and
throwing beer, not good as tonight I was using my all new camera kit!

GIRLS ALOUD

12 April 07

Today I was in London for a meeting and then headed for Joan as a Police Woman at the Scarla
in Kings Cross. Whilst walking through Soho I came across a big group of pap's waiting outside a hotel.
So I stayed around to see what was going on, and Girls Aloud popped out and got a nice little shot of Sarah.
Some poor guy got his foot run over, guess thats part of the job, but I don't fancy it!
