31 August 07

I thought i was going to see battle play tonight, but not to be, instead the line up for Another Music=Another kitchen @ Pound Gallery changed to Kubichek and The Enemy, which was cool. Little Tommy Clarke played a few tracks to round of the live music for the evening. As one of the last live music events at Proud Gallery in its current location in Camden market, it was an end of an era.

Dance party time at Rough

28 August 07

My first time to the new Rough Trade shop on Brick Lane, and it was cool! here for Cajun Dance Party doing an in-store, bit like the kooks and place was full, turning people away at the door. The band had spent the afternoon blowing up balloons, and unleashed them on the crowd mid set, looked great.

Reportage : Burnham Festival

27 August 07

Bank Holiday Monday was an editing and Reportage Day, covering the Burnham Festival for the WHTimes. The most impressive thing of the day was a spitfire display, it was so cool, amazing how fast and maneuverable it was! The guy flying it really knew his stuff.

Get Loaded!

27 August 07

Yesterday I was at Get Loaded in the Park for NME, it was a good day, I even had a nice little wrist band that got me a free bar and free Nandos. Had some good fun, I was impressed with the day considering not everyone on the bill was to my taste. Highlights would be Bonde do role, MIA and Mr Dizzee Rascal.

h h h h h h hot hot Heat

25 August 07

As with many Club NME's they start late, so I trundle down to koko with my trusty sidekick for Hot Hot Heat. Some good support bands in the form of 'Blondelle' and  'The Thirst'. Hot hot heat are a personal fav, and they banged out the hits, neglecting the new album in preparation for a Reading/Leeds showdown over the weekend. Really glad I went, got local stuff Saturday and Get Loaded for NME on Sunday!

Pearl Jam Archive

24 August 07

One from the archive, as I've had 2 gig's fall through on me due to PR's not doing their jobs. This was shot in Australia at the end of last year (Nov 2006) at the acer Arena in Sydney. One of the biggest bands in the world, great to shoot, but photographers all follow strict rule when shooting them.

Gormley

21 August 07

Antony Gormley was the guy who created the 'Angel of the north' and has now transformed the central London skyline with his new works titled ' Event horizon' which consists of numerous statues on building tops. I counted 20 odd and I'm sure there are more. Ones you see one, more become visible, standing on roof tops all along the river, well worth a look.

Rilo Kiley

21 August 07

Headed into London today, caught the Banksy V's Warhol exhibition which was really small but good, then over to the World Press Photo Exhibition, also very good, then on to Islington Academy for Rilo Kiley. Kinda enjoyed it, the guitarist needed hitting he was so annoying, but Jenny Lewis was very good, carried the rest of them. It was so packed in that I couldn't even get out the photo pit after 3 songs and had to wait until the end of the gig to leave! Craziness!

The golden touch

20 August 07

Tonight I was at Proud gallery for NME to cover the Johnny Borrell (from Razorlight) gig. The place was rammed and there were so many people, that most of them could not fit in to the small section where the music was on. Johnny Borrell came on and did a 7/8 track set including Golden Touch and America. It was so hot in there that I was gasping for a drink by the end. Worth it tho!

The Double

18 August 07

Tonight I was driving about London, 2 big jobs, and even managed to stop by for a friends birthday drinks. First up was Martha Wainwright @ Shepard's Bush, really good, so good that even Pete Townsend (the who) stood side of stage, and played with her later in the set. I then jumped into the car, via a party, to KOKO for NME. Here ' Does it offend you, Yeah' were playing. Got a nice AAA pass to do shot side of stage, and had a really great eve. Roll on Sunday..Mr Johnny Borrell (Razorlight ) playing tiny gig in Camden. But first..party tonight!

Sydney

15 August 07

This is shot from back in February when I lived in Sydney, miss it! great place and its a must on anyones world traveling list, there's just something about it. The center piece of the whole city, Opera House and bridge, amazing by day or night, and  I never tired of this view.  Also, one of my fav blog's are back, so if you into your music photography you have to check out this : James Quinton

i am kloot

15 August 07

One of Noel Gallagher's fav band at the moment played a small show this eve, a solo performance from 'i am Kloot's front man John Bramwell. with people sitting on the floors around the stage the slow and somber set set a nice mood. I then picked up some people to track back to Hertfordshire!

the lovely Natalie Imbruglia

15 August 07

Tonight..... tonight.....lovely lovely lovely! Apple store, Natalie Imbruglia. With no photo pit and pretty much no lights the ozzy ex-neighbors star jumped up for her best off set. Banging out tracks like Torn, fans and comp winners loved it. I'm really not sold on these pics, for you photographers, I had to go to 1250/1600ISO to get them, and I hate the noise, good job I'm not using Nikon! But this is what I got. Also, good to see all my Apple crew as well!

Field Day

12 August 07

Today, back on the musical horse for Field day in Victoria park in London. Had a really nice day, too my girlfriend down and my bother was there too. Shame the organisers could not sort out photopasses but thats another story. Saw some cool bands, no massive names on the bill, but that was good, the quality was there from some of the bast up and coming names in the country. Highlight was Foals, hence the selection below! Also, these 4 crazy guys, they came dressed like this, amazing! More pic to follow from field Day as I edit tomorrow.

Interview and other shots

09 August 07

Today I had a day off, so I spent it, wizzing about getting some cool photos. I like this one (below link), its got the Old-school effect looking like its crossed processed. This location is meters away from th end of the runway at an airport, so you can get right under the planes as they take-off and land.   Also I was interviewed whilst at Roskilde Festival in Denmark by this magazine (SubVert), Check it out by following the link below. Its aimed about getting into the music photography industry.

friendly fires @ koko

06 August 07

So after the Pete D show I headed due west to Camden and KOKO for Friendly fires. Good job they were not on until 12.30 or I would of missed them. By this point i was feeling rather ill, and Mr Guy Eppel has some nice photographic evidence of me not looking on form in the photo pit. After my 3 songs I drove home (prob shouldn't because I was getting ill-er) and crashed out in bed.
