Obviously last night the BBC were filming for TV, and after editing and wiring the pictures, I sitting down with a glass of red watching th gig back on BBC2. And what you know, there I am on several occasions snapping away in the pit! its really funny seeing yourself on TV, and actually quite exciting when your not expecting it. All the footage is on BBC.co.uk/electricproms and on the Red Button of digital. I was in fact wearing a yellow t-shirt...see if you can spot me!
Wow, what a show, so much better than the Kaisers last night, Bloc Party Really pulled out the stops. Such a good gig, and one of the best I've been to for a while.
Electric proms continues, tonight with the Kaiser Chiefs live at The Roundhouse as part of the BBC electric Proms festival. In my option this whole Electric Proms thing is a load of shit. The concept its self is great, with some great band being involved. Only thing is...at both shows I've been to this week, both have string or Orchestral accompaniment, this is in fact the reason for the whole festival. At both these shows the classical players have been shoved at the back, and you cant hear them live. On TV its totally different and there clear, but live (and from the pit you get very good sound normally) you cant see or hear them. Rubbish. Let hope Bloc Party make a better job of it tomorrow night.
Over to KOKO again for the Electric proms, tonight was the Editors/Battles night. Both two really good bands, but not really similar. The BBC was out in force with camera whizzing about over heads all the time. I think the crowd was a bit funny, pockets of people loving it, but generally quite subdued.
First day back off tour, first gig of the week, down to koko for the thrills. Had a day of admin and catch up. But it was good to get back to it. electric proms this week, should be a good one!
Just got back from being on Tour with Ben Griffith. Had a wicked time, and honor and pleasure. So thanks to all the crew for making it an amazing 2 weeks. I'll be back to it this week, so tune in for more!
Still on tour with Ben Griffith and co, having a great time, seen some great cities. Be back on track for more photos as of next week. This photo from Glasgow the other day.
My last night before the tour and its off to Wembley Arena for Damien Rice. Looking forward to getting on the road for the next two week, should be great fun!
Some of you may know but I'm going on tour for the next 2weeks, so the blog might run with a little less posts than normal. I'm touring with Ben Griffith so expect some photos from the UK here as we go. Here was the final tour practice in Brighton last night. I've set up
Ben's own tour blog which is here, so check it out, and might see you on one of the 14days around the uk.
Had a busy day today, meetings, dinner out and then the Diesel U Music Awards @ koko, CSS were headlining and support from Good Shoes, the features, Wiley and several others. CSS were good, but I've seen them play the same set about 6 times this summer, its wearing a little thin now.
